On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell, made the first telephone call. He called it - "acoustic telegraph". To call IP Telephony "telephony", is like to call the first telephone "acoustic telegraph) two decades ago. When we say "IP Telephony", we refer to telephony, messaging, multimedia, social networks and more.

Unified Messaging, or Unified Communications, is the concept of merging all types of messaging media - voice, text, picture, movies and others, into a combined communications experience. A unified messaging communications experience will take the form of a unified service, allowing the end-user to have a single source for all kind of messages, including message repository, access, and notification.

UM is the ability to retrieve and send voice, fax, and email messages from a single interface, including mobile and fixed phones, PCs, portables and any device used by the end-user.
